PowerRay is an underwater drone that tracks, photographs, and also baits fish. Its primary feature is a sonar add-on, where the drone can identify fish, photograph all of them in 4K, then send that data to a mobile phone by means of Bluetooth. The details sent includes the fish location and water temperature for both saltwater & freshwater fishing.
A second available accessory lets the drone drop bait to specific areas. The PowerRay dips the bait while the owner oversees the action from above the water.
While accessories broaden the underwater drone’s features, its camera packs a punch by itself. The digital camera takes underwater video footage with a 100-degree wide angle lens, filming 4K video at 30 frames per second or even 12-megapixel stills in 5 fps bursts. An illumination with a blue hue was created to draw fish.
The drone can dive as deep as 98 ft and that accessory sonar item will monitor fish as much as 131 ft beyond that, with a precision within roughly 3.9 inches. The built-in Wi-Fi transmits that data with a signal that can reach a range of about 230 ft.
The PowerRay and the sonar accessory have a battery pack life of as much as 4 hours. The underwater drone, on its own, weighs 7.7 lbs and adding on those add-ons will add an additional 4.4 lbs to that pack.
