Wearable gadgets are all the rage these days, mainly hi-tech electronics. But there are some which do not require batteries and are really handy like the Leatherman Tread Wearable Multi-tool. This really cool gadget is not only quite practical for fixing things on the go but it also doubles as a cool as heck looking wristband. Formed from high strength rust resistant steel links it has a cool industrial look to it and is available in stainless steel or black finishes. Each one of the links has up to 2-3 tools built in to reach a total of 25 different applications.
Among the tools found on the Tread you will find screwdrivers, box wrenches, glass breaker, oxygen tank wrench, sim card tool, hex drives and a cutting hook. You can fully customize the wristband because each link is detachable allowing you to arrange them in your preferred order. The clasp features a bottle opener for when you need a cold one during your DIY efforts. You can add and remove links at your leisure; it’s like a Pandora bracelet for people who have things they need to fix. Basically this is just a very cool idea for a multi-tool which you will actually want to wear.
Leatherman is looking to actually release this gadget for the summer and it will likely be a big seller although there is something bigger coming. Apparently, come the holiday season, Leatherman will be releasing a version of this multi-tool that will feature a high quality Swiss-made timepiece. So essentially your cool looking watch would double as a whole bunch of tough rugged tools. It won’t be a cheap tool admittedly coming in at between $150-$200 but it does come with a 25-year warranty so this is going to serve you for many years, assuming you don’t lose any important links.
