The Yeti Touch includes a plastic tray with a detachable cast-molded steel board placed on top. There are no heating components, no power-driven parts, and no power source required for the procedure. To thaw frozen cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood, just take it out of the fridge and put it down on the board, enabling the metal to remove the cold away from the food. The board, which can be an aviation-grade lightweight aluminum alloy with enamel layer, is built such that it can suck the cold out of the meat, hastening the thawing procedure in a substantial manner.
However, only the side of the meat that is in contact with the board will be thawing quicker, so you will need to flip it over occasionally to be able to quicken thawing for two sides. As ice on the iced food melts, water streams through drain pockets in the board, which gather on the tray underneath, all set to be disposed of as soon as the meat is properly thawed. To throw the water out, just lift up the board, get the tray, and pour out the water.
The holder of the Yeti Touch can, in fact, collapse into a flat board itself, letting you utilize it as a chopping board after thawing. Meaning, you can begin chopping meat on the tray once you finish dumping the water, which will help you cut down on the stuff you have to clean up later. It is on a portable size so it should not consume big space when in your kitchen counter, even though the rather small size means it is only designed for thawing small portions of food each time.
