Folding laundry will never be your idea of a fun time. Fortunately for individuals who want to free themselves of the duty altogether, there exists the Laundry Folding Robot named Laundroid. So how does it work? The Japanese company behind it, the Seven Dreamers, hasn’t talked much about the technology they used and how it actually works. What they are willing to let us in on is the idea that it makes use of artificial intelligence and a unique image processing to identify various objects of clothing and fold them. Sound too good to be true? We believed so too – however, Seven Dreamers arrived at CES this time prepared to show how it worked in front of live viewers and they didn’t fail. The device can take as much as 40 distinct pairs of pants, t-shirts, or lingerie. Laundroid’s only drawback? It requires a slow 5 minutes to fold just one shirt.
