Garmin already creates in-car GPS systems that you can manage with your voice, which means you never need to take your hand off the steering wheel. As an upgrade, they now offer Garmin Speak with more advanced features and functionality.
A GPS gadget for your vehicle, the device has turn-by-turn instructions like similar items from the company with one significant difference: it features Alexa onboard. You can now count on Alexa to deal with all your needs while you are making your way to work each day, all by using Garmin’s turn-by-turn course-plotting to make your everyday traveling a better event.
The Garmin Speak is a compact cylinder-shaped item, making it incredibly unobtrusive when installed on your car’s windshield. It offers a small OLED screen at the front that displays the turn-by-turn routes, to help you take a glance at the event you want visual cues to voice directions. To reveal turn-by-turn routing, just say, “Alexa, ask Garmin to look for this restaurant, ” and the gadget handles the rest, offering spoken instructions with suitable visual prompts on the built-in screen. Map information is instantly updated with no extra fees or subscriptions, with real updates on traffic situations and areas of delay readily accessible via an Alexa command.
Built with its onboard audio, the gadget can offer replies and turn-by-turn guidelines by itself, freeing up your vehicle speakers for other things you want to play. It uses a 12-volt micro USB wire, so you’ll have to put up with some wires going across the windshield.
