Multi-monitor surround sets offer unmatched panoramas that lengthen well into your border. They are ideal for first-person sims as well as shooters, but there’s an ugly spot: bezels hinder the view where close screens meet, disturbing your sense of engagement. At CES 2018, ASUS showing a new concept that conceals bezels behind the visual mask to generate a more smooth image.
They produced the Bezel-Free Kit together with one of their backlight suppliers, which are experts in optical elements. The concept is easy. Thin lenses are set along the intersections where screens get together; they carry visual microstructures that refract light, twisting it inward to conceal the bezels underneath. The Bezel-free Kit is a collection of translucent add-ons that clip onto screens.
